Keep Albuquerque Beautiful Recycling Education Program

Keep Albuquerque Beautiful has taken on the role of recycling educators, reaching out to ten different classrooms and engaging over 230 students in an immersive recycling education program. From interactive presentations to hands-on activities, KAB is on a mission to spread awareness of the importance of proper recycling to the young students in the community. Every classroom is gifted with a composting kit to spark curiosity about how composting works and the positive impact it can have on our planet.

Going beyond the classroom, KAB also facilitates field trips to our new Solid Waste Facility. The educational classrooms at the facility are transformed into a hub for learning where students receive presentations about recycling and gain insight into the work of our Solid Waste Workers. Children can step into the shoes of a recycling truck driver by playing the Truck Simulator. Finally, the students meet a real truck driver, tour an actual recycling truck, and witness the process of collections.

Through engaging presentations, interactive field trips, and hands-on experience, KAB is sowing the seeds for a generation of students who will recycle right and nurture the values of sustainability in their everyday lives.
